Meet “Gurty,” the 2015 sorrel mare making her comeback in Blane Cox’s program. Registered as Kits Chicks N Checks and sired by Counterfeit N Checks out of Kits Dixie Chicks, Gurty is an ex-cutter from Canada that Blane bought as a 3-year-old. After spending nearly a year and a half recovering from an injury, she’s finally been cleared to return to work.
In this video, Blane Cox shares how his careful rehab and light riding program helped Gurty rebuild confidence, strength, and balance after time off. He talks about her recovery journey, her strong cow sense, and what makes her one of the strongest mares in his string heading into her next chapter.
