The Cinch Timed Event Championship (CTEC) has stood as the ultimate test of the true all-around cowboy since its debut in 1985. Created by E.K. Gaylord II at the iconic Lazy E Arena, the event was designed to spotlight rodeo athletes who could excel across multiple disciplines—earning the CTEC its reputation as the “Ironman of ProRodeo.” Each year, ProRodeo’s top 20 timed-event cowboys are invited to compete in five events—team roping (heading and heeling), tie-down roping, steer wrestling, and steer roping—across five rounds in three demanding days. With a $200,000 total purse, including a $100,000 winner’s paycheck, the Cinch Timed Event Championship remains one of the most prestigious and physically demanding championships in professional rodeo and is streamed exclusively on Roping.com.
