Joseph Harrison talks about keeping roping fun for the horse and why he believes leaving the box and catching up to the cow is one of the most enjoyable parts of the run for them. He tries not to always be framing up his horses up or pick on them when they do not need it, allowing them to enjoy their job while still doing what is expected of them. Harrison also talks about getting and keeping a horse good in the box. He wants his horses relaxed and able to score well, then lets them read the cow as they run down the arena. He only steps in when he feels like the horse needs help or a correction. Rather than trying to make every horse fit a certain mold, Harrison believes in letting a horse be what it is. Not every horse is going to be a rodeo horse, and not every horse is going to be suited for a lower-numbered roper. To Harrison, that is part of what makes horses special. There is a place for every horse.
