Colonel, registered as Hotrod Song, is a strong horse "with a lot of feel," which has led Taylor to swap around his headgear. She'll ride him with or without a tie down, and change what bits she rides him in from the practice pen to the rodeo. One of her favorite rodeo bits for Colonel is a Tom Palmer with a square port and a rawhide curb strap. She also uses a Bull Parker solid correction on him for shorter scores.
